Sunlake’s boys’ lacrosse team has had a very successful season. On February 18th, the varsity team had a game where they played against St. Pete High School. Among the many talented players was Junior Jack Haynes. This is Jack’s first year on the team, but he’s been very “…grateful for the opportunity to be on the team.” According to Jack, the game against St. Pete went “Good, we won the game 15-10, and that’s always a good thing.” Jack and his team have been working very hard throughout the season, with extensive training and practice, the team has reached their goal of having win after win, making them one of Sunlake’s most successful sports teams. As mentioned before, Jack has really enjoyed being on the team. Some of the members of the team are his closest friends, but the person who encourages him the most is Coach Schweigert. “He’s been really helpful in pushing me to always give my best,” the junior stated. Jack and his lacrosse teammates are really appreciative of all of their support, which has led them to their successful season year after year.
