On September 4th, 2024, the trailer for “A Minecraft Movie” was released by Warner Bros. The world was taken aback by the off-putting CGI, and it was met with a significant amount of backlash. So, when the movie was finally released on April 4th this year, the world was shocked by the astounding success it has reached. The film has garnered $816 million globally at the box office, and the hype isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The movie is fun, light-hearted, and a good time for all ages. However, the film has caused some ethical debates on how people should be behaving in theaters. For background, whenever a callback is made to the game it is inspired by, such as “Chicken Jockey” or “Flint and Steel”, fans will scream, cheer, and even throw objects, disrupting others watching the film. Other disturbances have been bringing live chickens into the theater, people riding on each others backs, and fireworks being set off in the theater. These immature acts have forced theaters to implement a rule not allowing minors into the theater unaccompanied. Regardless, people continue to see the box office hit, even a month later the film is still in theaters and is the third most trending movie being played. Overall, despite what critics said in the beginning, the film is a success, and it’s not too serious, and a fun time for all.
