Seniors throughout the year look towards their final big events in high school, such as prom, graduation, and Grad Bash. Grad Bash is an event that Universal Studios hosts every year for Florida high school seniors who wish to participate. The event offers access to both Universal amusement parks after hours from 6 pm-2 am. Every year, many Sunlake students attend the event to enjoy the park after hours with only seniors around them, making it a special experience. A senior who attended this year was Cadyn Larscheid. When asked if she enjoyed it, she replied, “Yes, it was a lot of fun, but I started to get really tired halfway through while all the walking kept me awake.” She and her group got to go on five rides, one of which being the new and very popular ‘Velocicoster’. Cadyn said that the ride was very “exhilarating.” Many of the popular rides have long lines up to three hours or longer, making it very difficult to go on them, while some, such as Cadyn’s group, are dedicated to it. Cadyn said she had “no initial thought on what the night is going to be like, it had both positives and negatives.” This was also her first time at Universal Studios, making it unique and memorable. She said the “price was very worth it, and I would make it a part of my bucket list to go again.” Lastly, she hopes that next time she will get to go on more of the popular rides. With the new Epic Universe park opening up this year, there is a chance that Universal would be adding it to the list of parks available for this event, which would make it even more exciting for the upcoming seniors. Every year Grad Bash is a very looked forward to event, from the bus ride with your friends there to the long lines and memories at the park.
