Joining and being a part of Sunlake Highschool’s yearbook staff is, in Oriana Caldas’ own words, an enjoyable experience so far. Everyone is welcoming and hospitable, and that we’ve created a nice community as yearbook staff.
Upon asking Oriana what made her want to join the yearbook staff, and why, she admitted to being really passionate about crafts and designing, which drove her to join the staff to assist in designing the yearbook itself, as well as taking up photography. Oriana’s prior experience upon joining the yearbook staff, she had been apart of the staff in her middle school, Imagine, Land O’ Lakes, as a staffer, which she also described to be a delightful experience.
Goals are a thing every person has, whether it’d be for improving their health or skills, and Oriana Caldas’ goals consist of taking up photography, and contributing to the layout and design of the yearbook itself, as well as improving her efficiency in writing. How would she go about doing this? In her own words, she would like to learn new things, because she’s not very talented or experienced in writing, even though she’s taken a writing class.
Upon asking Oriana if she would have thought about joining the yearbook staff a year or two ago, she replied with an astounding yes, having prior experience to this. She was not able to join the staff during the ninth grade due to having a lack in requirements needed to join the yearbook staff, but it was something she had been hoping to join and be apart of. She, as well as many new staffers, are very excited to be apart of this community, and are looking forward to contributing to the yearbook, meeting new people, and improving skills in certain fields, like communication and photography.
