For most sophomores, the first day of sophomore year is scary, nerve-wracking, and a little bit exciting. Sophia Schopke is no different. “I was definitely nervous for fourth period. I didn’t know what I was walking into,” she said. But when she sat down in her seat all her nerves she had previously felt went away. ” I feel very happy that I’m in yearbook. I’m happy that I have a class with my sister.” Her sister, Alexandria Schopke, is a leader within the yearbook committee and works as a copy editor. As a freshman, Sophia was part of the Digital Design 1 class. “I thought it was really fun,” she explained. In class, she let her imagination flow, her creativity expressing itself in bright colors, funky shapes, and the incredible work she put together. “My sister said that yearbook was even more fun, so I wanted to join,” and now, as a sophomore, she has become a staffer for the very first time. Despite being a first timer and despite the nerves, she didn’t let that stop her. When asked if she thought she would take her skills in yearbook and apply them to her life she said, “Yes, I think that I will use my skills in the future for a job because I like to edit things and create. I believe that my skills will be very useful for me in the future.” Today, she sits in fourth period yearbook, not nervous or scared for what’s next, but confident and ready for anything. “I’m excited to show what I can do and to really become a part of this community,” she exclaimed. Overall she cant wait to write many articles and show what are school is about. Look out Yearbook, Sophia Schopke has entered the scene.
