Ashlyn Lawson is a sophomore and a very passionate and involved Sunlake student. Ashlyn’s main passion is art and swimming. Her main influence for these passions is her dad who always supports her and pushes her to do better. The future can be foggy for many high schoolers, but Ashlyn has some clarity. When asked if she hopes to do her passions in the future she replied, “I definitely hope to be able to continue art throughout my everyday life and swim, I hope to continue all throughout high school.” These long-term goals will help propel her motivation in the future and in school.
Participating in school can give students a way to make goals and be productive. Something Ashlyn likes about Sunlake High School is, “I love how many different programs they have. Like, they have health, they have a lot of sports opportunities and then they have so many art and design classes.” A few ways Ashlyn said she is involved with Sunlake High School is being a yearbook staffer, a part of the health program with forensics class, and swim team. Not only are these activities fun but they help motivate students to do better, be more involved, and care more about school.
Another goal many high schoolers have is time management. While juggling schoolwork, sports, and afterschool activities it can be difficult to find time for yourself. Ashlyn stated that she likes to organize her room and hang out with her little sister and pets. She especially enjoys spending time with her pets, but her little sister can be a handful sometimes. Ashlyn’s response to a question about her free time was, “We always have swim practice, so getting free time outside of that is always tough.” Being a part of sports teams can be challenging, but the payout is worth it. Having goals and passions in life are key to success and productivity.
