For most people school is just a place of learning and absolute boredom, but for Sophomore Josie Deats that isn’t true at all. Josie Deats a student at Sunlake high school is so excited to see what her sophomore year has to offer. Her first year at Sunlake was definitely not one to forget so she hopes that this year will be even better. To start the year off strong she has created goals so she can still stay on track while enjoying other activities. Some of her goals include improving in her English class so she can raise her current GPA and getting more involved with the school. Josie is already starting to take action to work on achieving these goals. To improve her English work she is starting to practicing her writing skills and she plans to continue paying very close attention in class. To get more involved with school she has already joined two different well known clubs: Hawkeye and Key club. Josie said, “I want to get even more involved with the school within the clubs.” So she became apart of the fundraising committee for key club, by doing this she gets to help with most of the programs and fundraisers around school. Not only has Josie set goals for in school but she has made some for life at home as well. Josie is a competitive dance at Karl and DiMarco dance company and the goals she has set for the season are to improve in her tricks and to attend more college dance clinics. Josie said, “I set these goals for dance because i think they will really set me up for the future when i want to join a college dance team.” Josie is already setting herself up overall of success within school and dance and if she keeps the hard work she will definitely see improvement.
