Josh Brown is a strong member of the Sunlake marching band. His two signature instruments consist of the Trombone and the baritone. He practices regularly every single week with the rest of his bandmates to improve his skills as a musician. He plays in numerous football games and parades throughout the school year.
Last year, Josh and his bandmates won the FFCC Regional Outdoor State Championships. Even so, Josh continues to strive for higher goals. He wants to regain his championship title with an even higher score. “I think we got a 91.8 something… which is really good. I’d like to do more than that, but that’s asking a lot. We can do it. Just with enough practice.” Josh has faith in his bandmates and a drive to be better than he was before, all while remaining humble.
(The SLHS marching band scored a 91.85 at the FFCC Regional Outdoor State Championships, which was roughly .2 points above second place)

On the other hand, Joshua’s academic goals are straightforward, but something most teenagers could start doing. “I don’t study enough. Maybe try and get some more sleep.” It definitely is self-explanatory. Even so, a lot of students struggle with those, especially getting good sleep at night. Josh elaborates further on his new sleeping habits. “I already have focusing problems. Getting more sleep will help a lot more.” Even a little extra sleep will help all aspects of his school life. Giving him the energy to do what needs to get done.
Joshua is determined to make this school year one of his best. However, he is not alone in his goals. He and every single one of his bandmates are striving to be better than they were yesterday. They’re all determined to reach the state championships and win in the process.
