August 11th, 2025, was the first day of school for all the Seahawks, and it was the senior’s last first day of school, so Sunlake held the yearly senior sunrise. Senior, Lamai Robinson, who is also on the weightlifting team, and a cheerleader, decided to talk a little bit about her experience with this event. First off, she immediately stated, “My favorite moment from senior sunrise was seeing the senior class come together for the start of a great year. I loved seeing old classmates, friends, and taking pictures. “Already, you can tell that this event that it’s all about making everyone’s senior year be more memorable and make it a fun last year in High School. Lamai also did speak about how senior sunrise helped her actually realize it’s her senior year, and how it felt like a kickstart for all the other events for the senior’s this year. She did state that a word she would use to describe this event would be “nostalgic” because of all the photos they took and the big 2026 class photo that they also took at the end. She was asked if she learned anything new or surprising during this occurrence, and she said, “I did learn that there a lot more people in the class of

2026 then I originally thought. I saw many people that I’ve never seen or met before until that day.” Other than that she did believe that this event was very organized, and that there was nothing she thought could’ve been different. Lamai enjoyed it very much and thought it was bittersweet. Let’s give a big round of applause for Sunlake and throwing this amazing event for the seniors each year, and many more years to come.
