Senior Sunrise isn’t just the start to any day, it’s the start to an unforgettable year. It is a special experience, and a great way to begin the last year of high school. Layah Trnka, a Senior at Sunlake high school, had a great time at senior sunrise. “Watching the sunrise with my class felt so meaningful because it reminded me that we’ve all been through so much together, and we’ve finally made it to this point,” Layah says. “I loved being there with my friends, taking pictures, and memories we can look back on years from now.” Her favorite part of senior sunrise was the class picture because it was a once in a lifetime moment. It brought the entire class together and set the tone for the final year. “For me, it was a reminder of how far i’ve come since freshman year and how much i’ve grown, and it also made me realize that the end of high school is getting close. It’s exciting, but it also makes me emotional,” Layah explains.

Out of all the experiences that high school brings, it’s the friends we share them with make it unforgettable. They make the days go by quicker, the classes more enjoyable, and most importantly the memories. “The thing I will miss the most about high school are my friends. I sat with my best friend Alissa and took pictures with my close friend Allison during senior sunrise,” She states, “They mean so much to me because they’ve been by my side all these years and helped me grow.” Even with all the fun senior activities, there is still much more to think about. “My goal is to keep my grades up and finish strong” She continues, “After high school, I plan to go to college for ultrasound and start a program to work towards my dream career.” Senior sunrise was more than just waking up early to watch the sun rise, it was a reminder of how far the Class of 2026 has come and how much is still ahead.
