On the first day of school, Sunlake High School hosted the annual Senior Sunrise for the class of 2026. Excitement was in the air as students came together to witness the dawn of their final year. Katrina Vega, senior, shared, “I was most looking forward to seeing the sunrise and seeing my friends one more time on my last first day.” The event sparked a sense of joy in Katrina. “I arrived around 6:30 a.m., and i think everyone was just so excited.” For Katrina, the environment was great and welcoming, and people were just happy to be there. “My favorite part was taking pictures with my friends and capturing one of our last high school memories together.” For many, the Senior Sunrise was more than just an event; it was a symbolic start to their final chapter. “It felt really good watching the sunrise with my classmates and friends,” she expressed. The experience exceeded Katrina’s expectations, leaving a lasting impression on her and her friends. “The Senior Sunrise met my expectations beyond any measures and was overall a great experience, and I can’t wait for upcoming seniors to experience it.” With smiles on their faces, Katrina and her friends embraced the beginning of the end, creating memories that they will have forever. “There were so many moments that were funny, but my favorite was just capturing it in all the pictures and videos and being present in the moment.” Katrina addressed upcoming seniors, saying: “To any future seniors attendingĀ the sunrise in the next upcoming year, make sure to have fun with it, and take lots of photos and videos because you only get one senior year!”
