For junior Taylor Schamaun, this past week was a mix of studying, sports, and celebration, with homecoming weekend standing out as the highlight. “My week was pretty good. I had homecoming on Saturday which was fun. I went with my boyfriend and we had a good time,” Taylor said. The night was one they had been looking forward to. Before the dance, they got ready with her mom. ” I had a really fun time getting ready with my mom. My boyfriend came over and we took some pictures then went out to eat.” The night took a fun and unexpected turn before the dance even started. ” then we decided we need coffee before the dance so we stopped at Starbucks. we spent 2 and a half hours at the dance then went back to my house and watched a movie.” For Taylor, the small moments of the night made it all special. ” I had a really fun time and I’m glad I had someone special to spend it with.” Of course homecoming wasn’t the only part of her week. On Sunday, Taylor had work, which was a calm and easy day. During the week, she kept busy with her college courses. “I went to PHSC for my classes and found out i had an exam next week so i spent a lot of time studying. I don’t spend a lot of time on campus so my week was pretty chill,” Taylor explained. Soccer also filled the week for Taylor ” had soccer Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday which was great. I love playing with my teammates,” Taylor shared. Between practices and studying, Taylor balanced responsibility and fun. Looking back, the week was full of memories, but one thing stood out above the rest, homecoming night.
