The week had come to a quick end at Sunlake Highschool, and just a day before the homecoming dance in the evening, the homecoming football game was held. Just prior to the anticipated football game, people had been eagerly participating in spirit week, wearing costumes to follow the themes provided. The majority of Sunlake’s students had attended, including Jonah Miller, who is a freshman here at this high school. He and a couple of friends attended the game to have fun and cheer on Sunlake Highschool’s football team.

The football game, in Jonah’s own words, was “good”, and he had a wonderful time attending the event. The atmosphere was exceptional; the band played numerous songs at the beginning before the match started, and although unfamiliar to Jonah himself, the songs were catchy and upbeat, and going to the game with his friends certainly attributed to the merriment of the event. Since the game took place outdoors, it got fairly dark, however the moment it grew dark was by far his favorite part of the event itself, when at this point everyone got exceedingly louder when and rooting for the opposing teams. Jonah, in that moment, felt that excitement in being there as a spectator, watching both teams go against one another.
There were multiple themes for the football game, sectioned into four categories for each grade. Freshman were gold, sophomores were black, seniors were green, and juniors were another theme, which Jonah had no recollection of at the time. Each student from one of the categories could have chosen to follow the theme, or attend to the game without doing so, and the majority of the students here at Sunlake did in fact follow their respective themes for the sake of fun and dressing up, as anyone normally would for an event.
