The Homecoming pep rally was full of fun games and events that had every student cheering. Mischa Birkett’s experience was just as thrilling as the rest. It acted as a fun prelude to the Homecoming game later that day. Mischa said, “I thought the pep rally was really fun because everyone had a lot of energy.” Which could not have been closer to the truth. Students were pumped to show their Seahawks pride and cheer for their grade, as well as the football, swimming, and cross country teams.
The pep rally had 3 main games that students could participate in. In the balloon popping game, students each had one balloon tied to both of their legs and had to manage to keep their balloons unpopped. Once both balloons popped, that meant game over. The next two were the classic tug of war and musical chairs. The other two games were exciting and fun in their own right, but Mischa’s favorite was, without a doubt, the musical chairs. It was definitely the most high-paced, exciting part of the event.

The Homecoming Pep Rally was more than just games. Mischa mentioned, “The football team, swim, and cross country were being celebrated.” Which was especially true for the football team, considering their game later that night. Every team received loud cheers from everyone in the gym.
Mischa may not have participated in any games; however, she stated, “I didn’t participate in any games, but I did cheer very loudly!” She represented what Sunlake pep rallies are all about. A time to get students together and excited to show their school spirit.
