For most high schoolers, homecoming is one of the most important events of their high school career. The sparkly dresses, booming music, and party atmosphere is enough to lift the moods of even the grumpiest person. For Noel Phillips, it was just the same. Noel said that dress shopping was “really fun! When I was shopping I wasn’t really sure what I wanted. All that I knew was that I wanted a short dress. I went to Dillard’s but nothing caught my eye. Until I went to Windsor and my eyes landed on a red dress. I instantly knew I had to get that one.” All girls know the stress of finding a good dress, so we understand Noel! Walking into the gym was thrilling but a bit nerve wracking for her too; it’s her first ever homecoming dance. In her mind, she couldn’t mess anything up. Taking step by step, she made her way into the gym. As soon as she took one step into the dance, her eyes lit up in awe. “The atmosphere in the gym was a little chaotic for me. The music was so loud and there were so many people inside. I had to take a step outside before heading back in because I was caught so off guard,” Noel admitted. “I was feeling excited walking in, maybe a little nervous, but excited to have fun with my friends,” she said. And have fun she did…kind of. Noel admitted that hanging out with her friend was “okay because I was like third wheeling the whole time and I got to find my other friends so it got a little better.” We all know how it is to third wheel; it’s super awkward! But hanging out with friends always makes things better.
