This year’s Homecoming brought more than just school spirit, it brought a powerful moment of pride and inspiration for one sophomore who not only made the Homecoming Court but shared the win with his twin sister, Reese Gerhart. Easton Gerhart’s experience this year was nothing short of amazing. “It was amazing,” he said, excitedly. “I’m so happy I won with my twin sister. I hope more people like me can look at this and be inspired to at least run for Homecoming, no matter who you are, your interests, or your personality.” Easton’s message was clear: everyone deserves a chance to shine in the spotlight.
This wasn’t his first time on the ballot. “Yes, I ran last year and got elected for nominations, but unfortunately did not win,” he shared. “But at the end of the day, it’s all for fun. It felt great to make nominations.”
That positive attitude paid off. This year, he found out he had received the most votes out of all grades, a moment of gratitude and surprise. “I felt so grateful that so many people thought I should be Homecoming King of my sophomore year. It felt different this year, I was more confident and I feel like I evolved into more different groups within the school.”

The Homecoming Court celebration was just as exciting as the lead-up. Riding out in a Jeep for the entire school to see, he shared that the best part was being surrounded by supportive and kind people as the other nominees. “It just happened to be both my friends Ariel and Sam, and my very own sister! Everyone from the other grades was so nice, and we all got along really well.”
Looking into the future, Easton is absolutely excited to run again. “I plan to run these next two years. It’s so much fun, and you truly feel so special…” he explains.
As Homecoming fades into a memory, Easton’s experience stands as a reminder that confidence, kindness, and staying true to yourself can lead to unforgettable memories. His journey shows that Homecoming is all about community, growth, and making memories that last. Easton says to anyone who is thinking about running for Homecoming Court, “just go for it! It is definitely a memorable experience, whether you win or not, and it’s worth it to at least take the chance!”
