Bianca Casimiri has spent most of her life surrounding herself with theatre and musicals. Since the 6th grade, she’s been performing and improving her skills up on stage. A few months after entering high school, she decided to test her abilities and participate in a Thespian competition audition.
“I have LOTS of past experience with theater. From being in Dr. Seuss’, The Grinch when I was 4 as Max, to going to state in 8th grade for my monologue and getting an excellent.” Bianca clearly knows her stuff. But more specifically, her specialty seems to be the act of monologuing, which she put into full effect for her audition. She decided to perform two contrasting monologues, one being emotional, and the other comedic. The first was Rose Price’s final monologue from “Things I Know To Be True”, by Andrew Bovell. The second was from “The Audition”, by Don Zolidis.

Prior to the audition, Bianca had a lot of preparation done. However, she still felt nervous for the challenge ahead. “I was absolutely TERRIFIED! I always get super nervous for every audition.” “But I’ve noticed that as time goes on, I can control it much better than I could in 6th grade.” Bianca’s growth is clear. Despite her nervousness, she performed her monologues with passion and with no visible signs of nervousness in front the judges as she performed.
Bianca focuses a lot of her time on the art of theater. She sees a great future working with the Sunlake Theatre Department. She had lots of nice things to say about the people that make the theatre department what it is. “This group is very friendly with each other.” “Everybody is there for each other, and there isn’t a day that goes by where somebody isn’t hysterically laughing.” The Sunlake Theatre Department is a closely knit community that has all it’s members lifting each other up to help each other succeed. Bianca and everyone else considering entering the theatre program have a lot to look forward to.
