Last Friday night, Sunlake played Wiregrass Ranch High School and unfortunately came up short and lost 49-14. The boys played great, but it was a tough game. Junior Danny Storchevyi, a linebacker on varsity football says, “The game against Wiregrass was hard fought but unfortunately we lost. Quarterback, Kyle Horvath, did a great job of making good throws on offense and the defense looked to shut down the run game, but the other team had some very athletic players that were able to manipulate the game. We’re gonna look past this game and learn from our mistakes to get ready for the Butterbowl at Land O Lakes and the rest of the season!” Senior Arlette Mackliff, a base on the varsity cheer team, loves Friday Night games! Her favorite part is the student section “…because they are always loud and interact with the cheerleaders which makes the game ten times better.” “We can’t hide our Seahawk Pride” is her favorite cheer because it is very crowd engaging and gets everyone going! One of her favorite parts about Friday game nights is taking the bus to away games with the rest of the cheer team. Arlette loves the bond that she has made with the whole team!
