Sunlake High School’s girls soccer team has been paving their way to districts through their hard work throughout their season this year. The lady Seahawks have a record of 6 wins, 3 ties, and one loss. This helped the team move to the 13th ranked spot in the state, and 2nd ranked spot in the district.  During their recent 6-0 win against Mitchell Highschool, sophomore Adia Symmonds scored 3 goals and had an assist. She is playing school soccer for the first time this year and starts on the varsity team, but has played soccer since she was 3 years old. Adia says that her favorite thing about Sunlake soccer is “playing games against competitive opponents where we can work as a team.” For this season, she is most excited for “districts to hopefully make the finals and be able to play at home, and then maybe even go to states.” Adia is glad to have decided to play on the team this year, because she says “this team brings a lot of people together from many different grades, club teams, and overall is just a great experience. Adia hopes to continue to play on the varsity soccer team for the rest of her high school career, and her goal is “to see the team improve every year, even if its just a little bit.”
