Dribble, shoot, score. At Sunlake High School in Land O Lakes, Florida, the girls’ soccer team has been highly successful. Only having two losses this year, and coming 2nd in the district, the girls’ soccer team is looking forward to regionals coming up. On this team of girls—encompassing various grades—is Junior Bianca Martinez. She states that the season is “going well it’s been a lot of fun and we’ve been really successful this season.” Bianca and others on the team agree with the season being one to remember with the record we have. Within school sports, Bianca’s favorite thing “is the opportunity to play with some of my favorite girls and hav[ing] a blast while doing it.” This season the team has overcome many teams. Being the underdog in the game against Tampa Catholic after losing 10-2 last year, this year they came back and won 3-2. This game was specifically Bianca’s favorite game this season “because we were the underdogs and … ended up winning.” When given Bianca the chance to say what she likes about Sunlake soccer she says, “no amount of wins or loses can show how much talent this team has and I’m glad to be a part of it.”  She also states “Sunlake soccer is always a great environment especially when we all get along and we have amazing supporters to cheer us on.” This season has 2 more weeks depending on how far the team goes and the girls hope to continue to travel on a successful season.
