Samuel Chacon has enjoyed thrifting as he has “been thrifting for about three years now. What got me [sic] started was during the 7th grade, I got into an artist who has had a massive impact on the person I am now, so once I started listening to him, I started finding new ways to dress because I became obsessed with his style of fashion. I always loved it and it influenced me to try new things such as thrifting… I fell in love with it ever since. I love thrifting because I love discovering new things, especially things I haven’t seen yet.” Sam mostly goes “to different Goodwill stores but my most prized possessions are from Plato’s Closet. I look for everything—I go through each section for hours and find lots of clothes to try on, especially new ones I haven’t tried on before. I love my graphic tees—I have found at least 80 of them. I also thrift books, vinyl, jewelry—all kinds of things. I especially love to look for classical and opera vinyls. It gives me the most nostalgic feeling and it helps me relax and concentrate.” He hopes to keep thrifting for as long as he can, since this passion of his is so strong.
