Junior Selena Schulz has been an active member serving and giving back to our community through Sunlake’s division of Key Club. Selena is a junior and has been serving on Key Club “Since freshman year—so three years.” Selena has been the Key Club treasurer since her sophomore year. Her favorite memory thus far in Key Club has been “Being treasurer two years in a row.” Being a treasurer is a very important role and Selena told us that some of her duties include “Making sure dues are paid on time and helping volunteer at events.”

Selena’s favorite volunteering event so far has been the time she “volunteered at Longleaf Elementary’s Tales with Tails, which was a book-reading event put on by the PTA where the kids got to stuff their own stuffed animals and then listen to stories with cookies and milk. It was so cute, and they all had smiles on their faces.” Some of the things Selena looks forward to in her future years in Key Club are projects like “Setting up future events and helping new members figure out their hours. I remember how confusing it was for me and it’s really rewarding to help them find solutions.”
