A popular tradition for seniors is painting fun murals on their parking spaces just before school starts. It’s a big event in which a student’s family and friends come and help to begin their senior celebration. Senior Lauren Hallauer chose to paint Eeyore on her parking spot, a character from the story, Winnie the Pooh. “I chose my design because I’m always tired,” Lauren explained, “I asked my friends to pick one of the quotes I had chosen and they all picked that one. They talked about how I always complain about being tired.” With a design as elaborate and detailed as this one, it takes a lot of time and a lot of hands. It took Lauren 5-6 hours to complete her parking space. “My best friend Addy, as well as my mom and dad came out and helped me finish,” Lauren said. Overall this tradition is one of the many that allow students to celebrate their senior year and how far they’ve come. “I’m very excited to finally be a senior,” Lauren shared, and “I’m looking forward to all of the fun activities this year.”
