This summer, Sunlake students started their senior year off strong. Senior Rylee Vogt spent her last weekend of the summer painting her senior parking spot. Starting bright and early, students worked from eight in the morning to three in the afternoon. They had to deal with the excruciating heat in order to experience the first of many senior events. Rylee’s parking spot is a recreation of the brand “Life Is Good” with a twist that says “Senior Life Is Good.” When asked what her inspiration was for the spot, she said “I spent a long time on the internet trying to find an idea for my spot. I finally ended up on Pinterest and saw someone’s parking spot that was basically the same idea as mine. I though it was so cute so I decided  to use it as my inspiration.” It took Rylee all 7 hours on August fifth to paint her spot, and even had to go back on the eighth for some finishing touches. “The hardest part about painting my spot was having to deal with the heat,” she says, “…it was so hot and on top of that the floor of the parking lot was boiling, making it extremely hard to paint.” Rylee is very excited for her senior year and for more senior events to come.
