As seniors start their last year here at Sunlake, they have their honorary last first day. However, even before the day begins, a tradition called Senior Sunrise is celebrated for the senior class. This event is when seniors show up very early to school, before the sun rises, and meet at the football field. To honor their last year here, they watch the sunrise together, cherish the memories of their past 3 years, and celebrate with their peers. Senior Chiara Di Leo had an amazing time. She enjoyed the beauty of the sunrise and loved every moment of it. She said, “I really enjoyed the food that they gave, and I appreciate all the work they did to organize this event. I spent senior sunrise with my best friend Valeri Perelli, and we’ve been best friends all through middle school and high school.” As this is Chiara’s last year, she is, “Looking forward to all the football games and especially senior skip day.” She is excited for the numerous special events that she can participate in. Along with looking forward to senior skip day, Chiara says, “The senior event that I am looking forward to the most is probably water day, if they have it this year.” Chiara is hoping to cherish her memories of high school and have the most enjoyable senior year for herself.
