Senior Bradley Kovak has been playing football at Sunlake for all four years, from his freshmen year to his senior year. Bradley’s football experience has been a great experience. He has been able to build bonds that cannot be broken with many kids who also love the game! Bradley stated, “My first game was a fun one. It was slightly emotional, being my last first game, but being able to have that experience with this team, I would not change a thing.” The Seahawks kicked off the new season this year playing The Villages, where the score was 21-0. With The Villages coming out on top, unfortunately, the Seahawks came through with a loss. Bradley has always been extremely dedicated to football and is hoping to take it to the next level in the future. Bradley stated that, “Your senior year is different because it is your last chance to make a name for yourself in your high school years. It is your last ride; you do not have another year to change anything. You must make the best out of everything because soon you will not have it anymore, you must take advantage of your last opportunities.”
Senior Fady Zaher led our Seahawks in a team prayer before their big game. Fady stated, “I lead a prayer circle at the game because God gave us the ability to play and enjoy this sport, and while it’s a fun sport, it can also be dangerous, so I got some of the boys together to ask God to keep us safe and to have a good game.” This team has dealt with many ups and downs, with many changes and challenges along the way, but they continue to practice and push each other to their best abilities and come out even stronger than before.
