Many new students joined the yearbook staff this year, including sophomore Alexandria Shopke. Alexandria had been excited to take this class for a while saying: “I wanted to be a part of school more, it looked really fun.” The yearbook provides many new learning experiences and skills for its staff such as learning how to take and edit photos properly and learning how to write stories. Alexandria expressed her eagerness to learn photography, graphic design, and more digital design this year with this class. Only three weeks into school, Alexandria already feels good about being on the yearbook team; she’s already decided she loves it and can tell she made the right decision when deciding to become a part of the staff. She also says that she most definitely wants to continue with the yearbook again next year. Alexandria describes herself as a very dedicated and hard-working student, making her the perfect addition to the yearbook staff.
Outside of yearbook class, Alexandria enjoys her free time by “…doing dance and hanging out with my beloved friends and family.” With her friends, she loves attending school games and supporting the school teams in various sports such as football, volleyball and soccer. This year, Alexandria joined skit for the first time as one of her school activities and has been enjoying everything about it. She cannot wait for homecoming week with all of the dress-up days; she already has her outfits planned out and is ready to show them off along with her school spirit. As another way to show her school appreciation, Alexandria cannot wait to be a part of what she hopes is the best yearbook in Sunlake High School history.
