Nathan Atiyeh is a sophomore and new staff member in Yearbook. As a new member, he was not all too fond of “having to learn how everything works” in yearbook class and having to learn the ins and outs of new software. However, he did mention the engagement among the staff to be quite enjoyable, going so far as to say it was his favorite part of the class as a whole. Despite being new to yearbook, he has adjusted quite well, like a fox adapting to the changes in the seasons or an octopus adjusting to its new aquarium home. He decided to do yearbook as he had a lot of fun with Digital Design 1, and he believes that yearbook would be just as fun as Digital Design 1; he also has a sister who was in yearbook previously and enjoyed it. His position is not threatened by any potential usurper, as he is a new staff member. He does have an affinity towards sports, which would be quite useful as there will be some yearbook coverage of our sports teams. His interview skills are quite refined, which can be unexpected for a new staff member, as some have difficulty with their first interview. His favorite animal is the dog, and his favorite breed is the English bulldog, which he agrees looks like it had its face smashed in with a frying pan. Admittedly, he does show a lot of sympathy for the English bulldogs, as, in his words, “they are more prone to health problems,” and are born with deformed skulls and breathing problems that is encoded in their genes. He admires the loyalty and companionship that canines display, and appeared to also lack a preference for the species of canine; Nathan even showed an appreciation for foxes when wild canines were brought up in the interview.
