Zayda has been practicing interviews with other yearbook staff members to help prepare for their real first interviews. she states, “I was a little nervous to start interviewing people, but now I’m excited to start interacting more with others and maybe blossom new friendships.” Zayda is now stoked to start interviewing interviewees because of all the extra practice she got beforehand.

Zayda Thomas is a junior at Sunlake High School. Zayda has been interested in the yearbook since her freshman year, and she is big into photography. She wanted to take a class that would help her explore the creativity she has for taking photos, so she decided to start with digital design, which led her into the yearbook this year. Zayda states “I’m excited to start getting busier as more assignments come my way, I’m also excited to meet more people while doing this because it’s a very sociable class.” Zayda was asked what topic she would be interested in in the yearbook the most, whether it is photography, interviewing, design, or writing, and she would like to get her hands on all the above, but She would want to focus on her goal for photography and design. Zayda has also been into photography since the beginning of her freshman year, “I have a camera at home that I would use, and I started looking at programs and scholarships for college that I could get into and roles that drew my interest,” says Zayda.  

Zayda was asked if she would consider doing design in the future and so far, she is not so sure about what she wants to do but design and photography take a big place in her mind today. She did say that she would consider doing design but more so photography, as a side business. She wouldn’t want to use design too much because it is not her main interest or goal. Zayda was also asked if she would want any subject in the yearbook to cover and take photos whether if it was student life, academics, or sports and she stated, “All these subjects would interest me, I’m willing to cover any of these topics, but if I had to choose it would be student life and sports.”
