While other people were busy preparing for the hurricane, freshman Abby Southworth was thinking about anything but the hurricane. She’s lived in Florida her whole life and has dealt with dozens of hurricanes before. This time, she said she “…went to a party with a group of friends that I go to church with. We played games and had snacks and drinks. We ate popcorn and Oreos and drank Mountain Dew, root beer, and Dr. Pepper.” She played lots of Jackbox games, such as Quiplash and Murder Mystery Trivia. These games are played on a big screen, most commonly the TV. Each player participates individually from their phones and their answers are reflected onto the screen. She also shared that she was at her “…friend Eliza and Naomi Lammers’ house. It was so fun and a good escape from the chaos of the hurricane.” Abby said that she would definitely do it again, because it was “…fun, entertaining, and her friends are so great to be around.” Thankfully, the hurricane did not cause harm while these kids were partying.
