Key Club is a international club at Sunlake where students learn leadership and do service by volunteering to help others. The club is sponsored by Mrs. Noffsinger, an AP world teacher at Sunlake. Towards the end of each school year, elections are held for the club to vote in new officers to higher positions. One of those students voted in this year is senior Rohan Parekh. He ran for vice president of the club during the elections in April of 2023. He got elected to the position and began working in the new school year. He says the reason he ran was because the last officers were not doing a good job with the club and he wanted to make things better for the club. He said, “To join key club I needed a 3.5 GPA and I had a 4.5. I also had to make a speech, become a candidate, and present my speech to get voted in.” He also said the thing he likes most about Key Club is that there are a lot of people and he can help people by volunteering.
