The week of September 4th-8th was quite the week. Seahawks had off on Monday for Labor Day, as well as a half day on Wednesday. It felt like a short week for students, especially because the week before students had days off because of Hurricane Idalia. Students at Sunlake enjoyed the break period. Some did a lot during this short week while others did pretty much nothing and just chilled out.
Jack Zerfass is a sophomore at Sunlake High School. He plays hockey and is very involved with the sophomore skit, as well as Powderpuff for Homecoming. Jack has had a great start to the year and he said “I love my teachers and I like being with all of my friends.” However with pros there’s always cons and he said that this year, “I don’t like the homework because I don’t have time to do it.” He also said the school year has already felt long. He had quite the eventful week since he had a hockey tournament and he ended up going 5-0 in this tournament. Overall, regarding the week he said, “we skipped practice and had more homework.” He was asked what about this week he did not like and he responded with “Friday was slow but after that it sped back up.” He loved that during the week he was able to play his favorite sport, hockey, as well. When asked if he accomplished anything major this week, he said: “I won my hockey tournament and did more homework.”
