Senior Katelyn Madley and junior Samuel Chacon are two of the amazing yearbook editors. These two had to prepare for the category 3 hurricane Idalia that just hit Florida on August 30 by reevaluating what they would cover for the week’s weekly spread. Katie stated, “Sam and I had to scrap most of the typical weekly events, such as sports and clubs. Instead, we decided to keep a focus on students’ perspectives on the hurricane as well as how students and staff prepared in order to stay safe. The change was not too much different from the normal chaos of organizing what sort of coverage we can get on a weekly basis. I personally would say that it was not too hard to reorganize what we wanted to cover for this spread. Samuel on the other hand also stated, “I had to completely scratch out what I had planned that week and try to figure out what coverage will be covered during the hurricane.” These two wonderful editors never fail at getting things done, even under difficult circumstances!
