Mrs. Janess, a teacher at Sunlake, is an active member of her school community. Mrs. Janess is a science teacher here at Sunlake, as well as the Junior Varsity Cheer Coach. She teaches biology and has been teaching for the past 22 years. Mrs. Janess is deeply passionate about what she teaches and has a lot of love for the studies taught to her students. She decided to become a science teacher because, as she states: “I wanted to become a science teacher because I felt it was my way of changing the world.” She believed teaching was one way she could spread good in the world and make it a better place. This week is Homecoming week at Sunlake. Mrs. Janess always enjoys participating in Homecoming week. Her favorite thing about Homecoming week is witnessing the creative ideas and daily outfits that students come up with to showcase their school spirit. She said, ” I believe it is an excellent idea for students to show their school spirit.” For Homecoming week, Mrs. Janess was involved in planning the pep rally and creating the cheer team’s performance. At cheer practice this week, Mrs. Janess focused on practicing their performance. Unfortunately, due to sudden events, the cheer team was no longer able to perform at the pep rally.
