This year on Labor Day, students were out of school. No school means a free Monday and a 3 day weekend; the Seahawks took great advantage of this extra free time. Junior Augustus (August) Pedersen is a part of the foreign exchange student program at Sunlake and just moved here from Denmark. On Labor Day, August went to Busch Gardens for the first time ever. When asked why he went there for Labor Day, August said “my host family took me to Busch Gardens because they like to show me around here so that I get to see everything.” August really enjoyed the theme park and even said his “…favorite part was all the rides.” Although he had never been to Busch Gardens, August explained that there are similar places in Denmark; “In the capitol, Copenhagen, we have Tivoli, which Disney World was based on, but it’s much smaller.” Overall August had an eventful Labor Day and made use of his day off of school.
