On September 12th, Sunlake’s varsity volleyball team played against Pasco High school. Returning player Madison Hatfield is a crucial player on the team. She reflected on her game, recounting that her team destroyed Pasco with a score of 3-0. Madison said, “My favorite part of the game was being able to play with my teammates who I don’t normally play with, because we were able to use a more fun rotation. My least favorite part of the game was when Pasco would get a couple points and we would get down on ourselves. To prepare for the game we got hype with music during our warmups.” Since the team sometimes gets down on themselves, Maddie provided a solution, saying “…next time we play a team that isn’t that great, we can work on keeping our energy up because the game can get slow.” All in all, she recounted the game as fun and exciting; she said, “…personally, the game was fun as we got to experiment with new rotations and have players play positions they never play. It was all around a good, new experience for everyone.” Hopefully the volleyball team keeps up their great work, grit, and drive, and continue to win games for the school and beat their personal records.
