At Sunlake High School, the girls golf season has begun. From the start of school through the fall, the team competes against many schools. The Sunlake team consists of many girls with different levels of talent across several grades. One of the athletes on this golf team is sophomore Nevaeh Airola, with this being her second year on the team. Nevaeh has some experience with the golf meets and there can be highly competitive players compared to the freshmen who are finding their footing. A lot of people struggle to find their place on a sports team and figuring out their role, but once they do, they start to enjoy the sport more and more. They begin to find things that make them happy. Some people in golf enjoy putting, while others may enjoy long-range shots more. Outside of golf, some may enjoy hanging out with the team and growing bonds together.
Regarding golf at Sunlake, Nevaeh says, “…my favorite thing about being on the team is playing with all the other teammates.” Nevaeh enjoys being around her team because it helps make the season better and better. Throughout the season, all athletes hope to place well or achieve a certain number of wins. Nevaeh says her goal is to become a better player each season. As students improve, they start to notice the impact of hard work and effort to ultimately achieve your goals. The girls golf season is nearing its end, and the girls are hoping to continue meeting their many goals.
