This past week, 11th grade Sunlake student Junior Tangou, exercised his lacrosse skills at an organization called Fall Ball. Majority of the players who attend are Sunlake high school students. Fall Ball joins lacrosse players from high schools all over Pasco county to work on and enhance their playing. “We get together every Tuesday and Thursday just to practice,” he said. Fall Ball is going to end soon with a couple tournaments to finish it up.
Junior played for Sunlake’s lacrosse team last year and plans to join this year during the spring sport season. These practices he’s been going to are helping him improve his skills and prepare for the upcoming lacrosse season. “Having time just to play the sport is helping me a lot,” Junior explained. He loves the sport he chose to play and his teammates and he wants to see them grow with him. Junior hopes that our school’s lacrosse team gets more publicity this year and “…encourages more people to join” such as incoming freshman. He wants a stronger more involved team this year so they can see real improvement which is why he is dedicating extra time during the week to focus on lacrosse.
