Senior year is always the most fun year of all! There are so many fun activities that our seahawks get to participate in! Our seniors put so much time and effort into our first activity for Homecoming week this year, Powderpuff! Senior Nathan Lauer was one of our amazing coaches for the girls’ football team and one of the dancers for the boys cheerleading team! To prepare for Powderpuff this year, they had practices on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for at least an hour every practice; Nathan attended both boys and girls’ practices on those days. They had a couple outside rehearsals for the boys’ performance for a good month before the authentic performance in front of everyone. Nathan had an exciting time both dancing with the boys to put on a hilarious dance, and coaching all the girls with his friends. Nathan stated, “This year was pretty good dance wise, but sadly our senior girls ended up losing, which is a bummer, but at least we made school history. It is sad that it is my last year participating in Powderpuff because I have done it every year, but good things always come to an end. Hopefully in college there will be more fun things to come.”
Another one of our great seniors, Tyler Agan, was also one of the cheerleaders. Tyler stated, “Although it felt like we had some hiccups learning our dance in the beginning, once everything became finalized, we were able to focus and have a great time at practices and the game in the end. From somebody who had not done this any years prior, it was an experience I would recommend to anybody. It is crazy that this is our last year for everything, including Powderpuff, as I wish I would have participated in some of my previous years. That said, our performance went very well, and I would not change anything about how our powderpuff performance turned out.”
