The Sunlake volleyball team celebrated their seniors last week at an exciting Senior Night game. The team started the night off by giving recognition to all of the seniors on the team The seniors gave speeches to express their appreciation to their coaches, families, teammates, and friends. Anysha Audrey is one of the six girls approaching the end of their last high school season. In her senior night speech, she said, “My parents and siblings are very supportive of my volleyball career and I’m thankful to have them. Without their support, I wouldn’t be here today.” She also thanked her coaches and stated “…I will continue to grow with the knowledge you all gave me and use it to the fullest.” As the varsity team finishes the season, they continue to work hard on and off the court. Anysha said, “I am happy to see everyone grow as student athletes and I am glad to be a part of it.” At the game, the seniors were able to play different positions and although it was a tough game, the Seahawks came through in the end and were able to take the win. “A lot of unexpected things happened during the game,” said Anysha. This motivated the team to make sure that they would take the win. Senior night was filled with many emotions from tears of the underclassmen, to the non-stop cheering from the student section. All of it contributed to a memorable night for the seniors that they can look back on in the future.
