Katrina Vega is a sophomore at Sunlake High School who enrolled for French her freshman year. She loved it so much that she is now taking French II her sophomore year. In French II, students go into further detail on not only how to speak the language, but also French history and the cultures. Katrina said, “The class can be overall a little challenging, but if you actually pay attention, you will get the hang of it.” The teacher, Madam Mildred, makes sure Katrina and her classmates understand what they are learning. Katrina has made many new friends in that class which makes the class even more fun when working on partner work. So far this week, Katrina has taken and studied for two quizzes which she aced. She has also been working on the grammar side of French. Katrina said, “I love this class because it gives me plenty of opportunities to learn a language I’ve always dreamed of knowing.” Katrina is looking forward to enrolling in French III and IV during her last two years of high school to really make sure she can get all the information she needs to not only speak French, but to know the history and culture.
