Every year, students of every class put together a skit for Homecoming week that follows the dance’s theme. Work for this event starts early in the summer and carries on all the way through late September. This year, the senior skit experienced many trials and tribulations. After working extremely hard for over three months, the event got cancelled twice. Senior Henry Bourtman was in the middle of all the chaos as a member of the Student Council. However, Henry managed to make the best out of the experience anyway. He said his favorite part of the event was “…seeing the parent skit and spending time with friends and family.” In the skit, Henry was casted as the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz; “I chose to be the Tin Man because I wanted to be silver and play an interesting role.” Over the course of these three months, Henry was able to overcome great adversity. He said, “…the hardest part about skit was definitely planning the props and painting all the backdrops. All members put a lot of time and effort into them and all the other aspects of the skit.” Although this was his last year, Henry says that if he could go back and do it all again, he would.
