Sunlake High School sophomore Jairo Todd had a wonderful week at school following a soccer tournament in Miami. He won both games that weekend with his club soccer team and in addition to those wins, he got to explore downtown Miami with his team. He said that his weekend was “… really fun as a whole.” Jairo’s weekend was also extended one day, due to Labor Day. He said that, “…because we didn’t have school on that Monday, I just stayed at my house and relaxed.”
During his four-day school week, Jairo continued throughout his normal school routine but was surprised to find an unexpected drop in the weather. It happened to be during the same week as his soccer tryouts. Although it was colder than normal outside that week, Jairo still went on to perform significantly well at his soccer tryouts. The weather may have ruined his mood, but it did not ruin his excitement for Butterbowl: the Sunlake’s rivalry football game against Land O’ Lakes on Friday. Although the Seahawks ended up losing to the gators that Friday, Jairo said that, “The atmosphere and the crowd at Butterbowl were really fun to be around.”
