The week of October 16-20th saw the first quarter end. It was a great first quarter for most Sunlake students and many felt like it was a really fun quarter to start out the school year. Besides the end of the first quarter, Butterbowl was a major event that took place on the Friday of that week. Students had various opinions on how the week and its events went. One student in particular shared his thoughts on this week and his first quarter.
Dhruvil Mistry is a freshman at Sunlake High School. He has acclimated well to this new school and very much enjoyed his first nine weeks. This week was definitely a challenge for him as getting grades up was his main priority for the week. Dhruvil said, “I was grinding for my grades, especially my AP computer science grade, because the last few assignments brought my grade down a lot.” He then went on the explain, “I was happy at the end of the quarter as I finished with good grades.” Although grades were an important factor that week, Dhruvil did participate in some other activities that week. He said, “I went to the Sunlake boys soccer tryouts and I went for a bike ride.” This shows it definitely was a fun and stressful week at the same time for Dhruvil. On one hand, you have grades, and on the other, you have fun activities like soccer, riding a bike, and Butterbowl. All in all, Dhruvil had a well rounded week to finish off his first quarter at Sunlake.
