Madison Troiani, a junior at Sunlake High School, performed in her very first play: Medea. Madison went to auditions, not auditioning for a specific role, but for anything that was available. This was Madison’s very first play and she was very happy to see she got the role of the second woman in Medea’s Greek chorus. The play is a love story about a princes named Medea who falls in love with a guy named Jason on a long journey. They both get married, have children and start a great life. Jason decided he wanted to marry someone else betraying Medea and their children. Medea was heartbroken and sought revenge. The play explores her emotions and the consequences for her actions with a strong female as the main character. Madison’s preparations for the play consisted of eating with the other cast and getting ready at the theatre. Once they arrived at the theatre they had to warmup, get their hair and makeup done, get dress, and then it was show time. The play went really smoothly although Madison faced some technical difficulties with her mic throughout the show. Madison said,”…my favorite part of the play was when the Greek chorus was possessed in Act Two.” It was a very fun scene to act out with with my friends. She said,” I was bit sad when the play was over, I think what I will miss most about it is hanging with my cast-mates and putting together a production for our family and friends.” Madison’s whole family and her friends came to support her that night. This was a new and exciting experience for Madison to be apart of.
