Sunlake offers a plethora of clubs for our student body, which has a great variety of different interests. One of these clubs is the Drama Club, which allows students to learn about acting and performing productions. One student involved with the drama club in senior Isabel Ramos. She shared her own experiences with the club, including the latest production Medea.
“I joined theatre because as a kid I loved to sing and watch movies,” Isabel said. “I was encouraged greatly by my mother and father as they both have musicians and actors on either side of the family.” Having support from family members like Isabel did can be a great motivator for students to take that step and join a club pertaining to something they have an interest in. Isabel explained that the Drama Club spends much of their time rehearsing for fall and spring productions. The club also spends time watching shows, allowing members to bond over their love of theatre. The club’s latest event was their production of Medea; Isabel explained, “…the talent was extraordinary from everyone and their dedication and hard work truly made it a worthwhile experience.” Sunlake’s Drama Club continues to improve and prepare for future productions, so be sure to keep an eye out for their next show.
