Future Business Leaders of America is a “…career-oriented club that promotes leadership and business skills,” explains FBLA club secretary, Nora Ware.  At the most recent club meeting, they discussed plans for the club’s service season. The plans include “…improving our chapter by expanding membership and …organizing committees of officer-led groups” to involve FBLA club members in community service projects. Nora is in FBLA because economics and the way the world is run by commerce interests her. The club has helped her grow more independent, and she said: “… as it requires me to study intriguing subjects such as economics.” As secretary of the club, her role is to record and document important information concerning the club. Her responsibilities extend beyond the regular academic curriculum, offering a practical application of organizational and administrative skills. This school year, she is most excited for the FBLA State Conference because “…more members will likely participate and we will get to demonstrate our hard work at the state level.” As the club continues to shape aspiring business leaders, Nora exemplifies the positive impact and personal development that can arise from active participation in such career-oriented organizations.
