The boys are back and better than ever! So far, they have won all their preseason games, plus a couple of the games that started off the season. On Tuesday, November 14th, the Seahawks played Robinson High School. This was their first champion league game of the season. Yet again, the seahawks showed up and showed out. Protecting the nest with the final score of 6-0. The team’s overall performance was great. Building from the back, making runs, and scoring goals.
Center back, Elliot Hinz, went into this game excited. It was his first official high school season game. He is a freshman on varsity making this his debut on the high school home field. Before every game so far for preseason Elliot has had the tradition of listening to music with the guys in the locker room and on the way to the games. He also makes sure to stretch before games to prevent injuries. By the time he gets on the field he is ” …prepared and ready to play.” He was not sweating this game because “…they kind of sucked. Our team is confident. So, we didn’t really mind it.” Overall, the team did pretty good. According to Elliot, “… we did pretty good; we are still trying to find our chemistry. Our way to play. But once we get ourselves down tactically, I don’t think there will be very many teams that can beat us.” He said nothing about their performance needing to be changed since they beat the other team by a lot. The one thing Elliot suggests is “…pass the ball more. We have a bunch of dribblers.” the best parts of the game for Elliot are the celebration. He believes he performed well and “…locked it in…” when he had to do something. His favorite moment, as he recalled, is “…our first goal because that was my first experience as a freshman helping the team score a goal.” The best part by far was the win the seahawks got to take, accomplishing it at the nest.
Elliot loves everything about soccer. He has been playing since he was two years old. “I started because all my family played soccer. As soon as I started, I loved it and I just kept doing it.” Goal oriented, Elliot wants to play in college at Duke or Notre Dam. After college he plans to go professional. When asked how it feels to be a freshman on varsity, Elliot answered, “…feels pretty good!” His favorite part about playing with the seahawks is “…the experience and getting to know my teammates. We build bonds with a bunch of people that will last a long time.”
