Senior Remley Velde hosted a Friendsgiving this year. Friendsgiving is a Thanksgiving celebration held with friends. People will bring food, hang out, and eat a big meal together. Remley held her Friendsgiving with her close friends. It was held at Remley’s house, which is the common hangout spot for her and her close friends. She spent a long time planning this year’s Friendsgiving. Remley enjoyed doing it so much last year that she started planning this year’s at last year’s. Remley did a bring-your-own-board theme. It’s a theme in which each people bring a board of food that all correlates together. Some bring-your-own-board ideas that were brought were a dessert board, taco board, salad board, chicken board, and breakfast board. Depending on the board, everything correlated. For example, the dessert board was filled with all types of desserts such as cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and chocolates. When asked why she chose the bring-your-own-board theme Remley stated, “…we did it again this year because we loved it so much.”
Remley decided to wear a red sweater and black leggings to add some Christmas cheer to her outfit since Christmas is her favorite holiday. When asked if she would have changed anything about the night Remley stated, “Next year I’m gonna make sure people are actually committed to coming.” Remley enjoyed celebrating Friendsgiving with her close friends and hopes to continue the tradition in future years.
