Many students choose their classes based on their interests and desire to explore and learn more. One such student is junior Lexy Santiago. Lexy had chosen to take the photography class this year due to wanting to learn more about photography and how to use a camera better. Lexy said she hopes to continue using the skills she learns outside of the class, such as paying attention to the positioning of objects. Lexy described the class as “Exploring the creativity and storytelling in photography and can be incredibly rewarding.”
A normal week in photography class consists of going over a lesson. The criteria needed to be met for the assignment then collecting six images that match the criteria. Lexy said that this week in class they went over “…panning and shutter speed adjustments, motion blur purposes as well as how to produce a dynamic picture.” When asked who she would recommend the class to she replied, “I would recommend it to others if they are creative-minded.” The photography class teaches its students many things throughout it such as the fact that there is a lot more to a picture than just the quality of the image. Photography is not a difficult class but does provide one with much useful and interesting information, especially if one hopes to continue doing photography in the future.
